  1. The EU does not have a president... It has 2 (council and commission) and a country presidency changing every 6 months.. Also the first 2 are chosen by the member states and confirmed by meps, think of it like the PM in the UK... it is chosen by the winning party, but in this case you got to win a presidential election in a memeber state as an individual( in order to be able to vote in the council), you also need all 27 members of the council to agree a person and then have a majority in the EU parliament.
