@Firm Buttocks search it on internet , too lazy to type , look up the eu , which is about 7 times economicly speaking than uk , and look germany up , the largest economy in europe. And uk doesn t have the second strongest army in the world , maybe the 6 , or 7th . And in europe beside russia , france is the strongest military. France is a permanent memeber in un , france is too one of the nations that create the modern society , france is the leader of the francophone world , that includes many countries in africa and and 2 i think in the america s besides its overseas teritorries , which are a lot of them . France is a nuclear power , and one of the founders of eu and other organisations like interpol , which has it s head quarters in lyon. I could go on , but the list is too long , you can look these things up yourself . And find out that conpared with the eu which has aprox.420 million people , uk ( 67 million) is a dwarf state. And since corona virus , im not sure , but i think france overtook the uk economically , so france alone or germany alone are richer than uk , let alone with another 25 states to back them up .

@simoncolombo6640 EU decided four years ago that a deal is better than no deal , but not at any costs . That s how negotiations work , this is happening very often with trade agreements between any countries in the world . If their interests don t align at all , than the negotiations fail , it s only natural. Every side has it s best interests in mind .

The EU does not have a president... It has 2 (council and commission) and a country presidency changing every 6 months.. Also the first 2 are chosen by the member states and confirmed by meps, think of it like the PM in the UK... it is chosen by the winning party, but in this case you got to win a presidential election in a memeber state as an individual( in order to be able to vote in the council), you also need all 27 members of the council to agree a person and then have a majority in the EU parliament.

Any country can have nukes( but no one s gonna sell you the technology , you have to develop it) , but that probably would lead to ww3 , so the less the better, and when you threaten to nuke a a neighbouring country(SK) that doesn t really gives you a good image in the international community!

@ahmetmeliksahakdeniz1655 i didn t said theu can t develop their own nukes , and leaglly speaking , there is a UN convention , that the countries who already posses nukes are not allowed to give the countries who don t the technology . So theoretically , other countries that posses nukes wont sell the tech to the ones who don t , but practically speaking you are right , but i don t think anyone would do that! ( At least i hope....)

@4TheRecord i know , but in this case it s not relevant , every country in EU can to whatever it wants in order to stop the economic damage of the corona virus ! There are no restrictions from the EU bodies, it s an internal decision , taken by the national government wether to or not to bail out companies , fund the industrie ,etc . Even without corona virus , the national government makes bail outs or funds companies as it wishes . Eu law in general doesn t affect the economic decisions of national governments , as you may observed , if you watched news before 2016 , is more about environment or social rights . You can't blame EU because the government doesn t do the things the other countries in EU or outsied EU do . The british government has the total power in makeing such decisons .

We agreed on EU regulations in trade , food safety, labour safety and fishing ! There are not regulations against bail outs or funding british companies , every country does that , it s an internal decision taken by the national government .
