  1. These old river towns are actually quite nice and just need some residents. I suspect the high property crime is a symptom of the lack of jobs and the poverty and drugs that come with it. Really hoping that telecommuters will find these old towns with beautiful architecture and low cost of living and then move there. I haven't checked in a while, but last time I did one could buy an old historic home with solid foundation and structure for under $50k.
