I read about a study done recently that found 1/4 of Gen Z are functionally illiterate, are incapable of preparing simple foods at home such as soup from concentrate or a three ingredient omelet, don't know how to change a lightbulb and have anxiety attacks when presented with the prospect of placing a phone call to someone they have never met like a customer service center. I used to joke that Gen Z couldn't identify the business end of a screwdriver if their lives depended on it. I thought it was an exaggeration. Turns out that statement is accurate for the majority of them. They are basically adult toddlers. Yet they have been told that they are the smart ones and the rest of us are ignorant. The question is, do we try and help them or do we just let Darwin sort it out? Seems this one made that decision on their own.
