  1. if I was Putin , I would be putting all my guns in capturing Kharkov and maybe even odessa(probably not). and esp. esp. Kiev. after doing that and consolidating my captured territories I would set up a puppet gov. in Kiev and declare some sort of victory and do a ceasefire and say that I am stopping the war since the war is over kiev has been captured and those still fighting or the Ukr gov. which probably set up in Lvov is a illegal one. That is the only way Putin can save face and get out of this war and politically survive. So Kiev in my opinion is key to this war, the longer Kiev holds out and turns into a meatgrinder, the more the Russians will clamor for the war to end. and even if Russia captures Kiev, it will not really be in a state to conquer the whole of Ukraine as the Ukrainians will continue to fight and probably fight harder. EU NATO USA, will not stop sanctions until the Russians withdraw all their troops from Ukraine. and the Ukrainians will continue to fight and do attacks on Russian forces. Putin really fucked up put himself in this very very bad position. which can end his career and life.
