  1. my view is that short term strengthening of Putin's rule over Russia since it puts the scares on his enemies, long term, will ensure that Putin's downfall will be bloody, he will be the first person the next group of coup plotters take out when the overthrow starts. Without Putin , everything falls apart, the whole system was dependent on him moderating all the factions , without him, it all falls down like a house of cards and the collapse will be spectacular and bloody.
