  1. unfortunately the BMP-3 still turned into scrap metal in Ukraine, its not only the capabilities and design but how its used in the battlefield training and tactics of its crew. Heck the BMP-1 is a good design and can still be used well . and the BMP-2 which was used quite well during the war in Sierra Leone in the 2000s by the SA merc group Executive outcomes then again those guys were veterans of the SA border wars and in Angola vs. the Cubans, SOviet supported Angolans and were well led trained vets and used to unconventional warfare and though out of the box vs. poorly trained, poorly led and coordinated Sierra Leonean and Liberian guerillas. EA mercs did not lose 2 of the ex Ukr. BMP-2s they used to great effect as fire support platforms with its 30mm auto cannon and rugged design and excellent off road rugged capabilities and easy maintenance. Even though the Sierra Leonean guerillas had lot of RPGs, they were not used well. and there are reports of the BMP-2 taking RPG hits and surviving.
