however I think the Ukrs might recapture Bakhmut in this counteroffensives and this will have a massive political blow to Putin. and cause more chaos within the Russian political situation.

Interesting that a year ago Russian media was talking on how weak the Ukrainian military was and they can easilly be defeated despite losing at Kiev, now the Russia media seems to be terrified of the Ukrainians army and talking fearfully of the coming Ukrainian offensive. Russians learned hard late last year with the loss of Kherson and the Kharkov offensive which climaxed at Izyum with the Russians losing 450 AFVs, mostly abandoned , according to Igor Girkin, the worst loss of AFVs since Kursk 1943. along with the bloody failure of the Russian winter offensive. my view is that the coming Ukrainian offensive will be somewhat disappointing but will inflict heavy Russian casualties, maybe enough for Putin to mobilize more men. and probably send more T-55 vintage tanks to the front.

yah cause in those early days of the invasion, the moronic Russian military leaders predicated that the Ukraine war would be over soon within 1-2 weeks and Ukraine would surrender or at worst fight somewhat then retreat to Lvov. Nope Zelensky said I need bullets, stayed at Kiev despite being offered a helicopter ride out and the Ukrainians fought very hard much at the surprise of the Russians, who in the face of spirited organized Ukrainian resistance faltered and did not know how to deal with it except for mass shooting civlians. and the Russians still had it predicated they were fighting a weak Urkainian army right up until late 2022, until they were woken to the fact that they have a big chance of losing the war when they lost Kherson and large parts of Eastern Ukraine. Now with the failure of the Russian winter offensive, Russians are now in fear of the Ukrainian military and want to end the war ASAP. when they still hold substantial amounts of Ukrainian territory. I think the Russians well know they will not last more than one to two more year of this conflict, I think now Putin is trying to hold on until the USA presidential elections are finished. if a Pro Ukraine pres. is elected to the white house. I tihnk Putin will have no more options to go back on. and may well concede the war as lost.

well the Russians have learned painfully from their disastrous defence near Kharkov. and their defensive strategy are blocking forces of entrenched Russian infantry, and massive numbers of mobile reserves who are far in the rear who respond and counterattack to any breaches of the Russian lines by Ukrainians. as shown in teh recent Ukrainian probes of Russian lines. Also seems Russian air and artillery are used to support the Russian counterattacks. Also the Russians blew up the dam, near the nuke plant, in order to flood the Dniepr and prevent a Ukrainian crossing of the river.
