The Russians knew about the javelins and NLAWs and the Ukrs having substantial numbers of them, that is why they had a lot of cope cages before they invaded, however, these cope cages were really ineffective. It was quite hilarious, and the Russians did not know how to counter them except by bulling in more tanks against the Ukrs. this resulted in more lost tanks not only due to ATGMs but most importantly tanks destroyed thru Ukrs massed artillery strikes at massed congested Russian tank formations. also this strained Russian logistics to the point, that Russians had fuel shortages in the battlefield, that is why you see abandoned Russian tanks aplenty hahaha. Also Russian motivation and training sucks, so when the Russian tankers experience their ass getting whacked, they panic and run away abandon their tanks

Russian battlefield medical is very very poor. depending on the forces. but the vast majority of Russian forces get very poor medical, they have a bad shortage in first aid kits, Medevac is for officers. otherwise you get wounded you mend yourself or lucky you are near the Russian border you go to Russia and go to a hospital. Russians leave their dead and dont collect them, goes to show you what they think of their losses. Ukrainians, well equipped with first aid, excellent battlefield medical, near NATO standards, troops get Medevaced to NATO countries for treatment. This is very important in getting your injured back to fighting order. Ukrs are fighting for their country and motivated to go back to the battlefield after an injury, the Russians, if they are lucky enough to get evaced back to Russia, most of the time they wont go back to Ukraine. Russians fight for money and are forced to fight.

  3. the Russians already experienced the folly of their invasion of Ukraine early in the war, and ten months later, the Russian position in Ukraine is worse off than when they started. First few months of the war, Russia conquered about 40 percent of Ukraine, by Jan 2 2022 the Russians now occupy 20 percent of Ukraine. The Russian military ten months into the war is substantially weaker than they were in Feb 2022.

  4. these days the Russians learned from all these by using massed expendable convict light infantry to attack using WW1 tactics , with tanks used as infantry support. along with massive air and artillery support. Using massed armor tactics seems to be suicidal for the Russians in the face of the Ukrs using lots of ATGMs. so they respond with WW1 like infantry tactics. and that is the wagner group, the regular Russian army seems to be hunkering down and fortifying their positions, the Russians have been digging trenches and fortifcations several lines of them along the front . In the meantime, the RUssians have been hitting Ukr infrastructure with missles and drones. to disrupt Ukr ability to wage war. Ukrs having been using HMARs and artillery to hit Russian logistics and doing drone and commando attacks behind Russian lines.

  6. for 2023 I forsee: 1. US and NATO giving the Ukrs even more major weapons systems like ATACMs, maybe even western tanks and jets. 2. The Russians mobilizing a few million more troops and trying out new major offensives vs. Ukraine. perhapts another invasion from Belarus but this time towards Lvov. to try to cut supply lines from NATO. possbily to coincide with a major offensive in the Donbass. 3. Ukr counteroffensives. Perhaps a major victory for the Ukrs which might cause Russian esclation. 4. Russian economy getting hit harder in 2023 with the upcoming world economic recession however this wont really be felt by the Russians probably until 2025. Saudis and OPEC will still try to keep oil prices from crashing. 5. NATO approving missle strikes into Russia and possibly Belarus. 6. War ending in 2023, I dont think so, it will go on. into 2024. Putin will stay the course and wait out the Ukrs and see what happens in the 2024 US presidential elections.

  7. the Russians will even be more poorly equipped and even poorly motivated in 2023. You'll probalby see more older Russian tanks like the T-62s on hte battlefield. Also casualty wise I think the Russians are losing a lot more men than the Ukrainians , mainly due to Russian poor battlefield medical. the Ukrs are able to put back their injured to battle faster and more efficiently than the Russian by a mile. The Russians cope by mobilizing more men and keep on replacing their casualties on the front,. The more the Russians mobilize the more it destabilizes Russia.

  9. I think the Current Russian position is consolidation of its forces, trying to keep their 25 percent of Ukraine that is why they are mobilizing and fortifying their holdings. While Putin would like to conquer all of Ukraine, I think he and his command realizes that is not possible. So now wants an out that is acceptable with 25 percent of Ukraine in their holdings. Ukraine of course wants the Russians back to at least the pre war borders. and Ukraine is still not exhausted in this war. The Russians are showing more signs of exhaustion in this war than Ukraine is. Russian morale already low at the start of the war is even lower. Ukr morale is still high . with a high motivation to kick out the Russians. also both sides have to watch their economies. Ukraine economy is devastated but is kept alive by massive financial aid from the USA EU and their allies. Russian economy is slowly dying from the sanctions. and kept alive by their sale of oil and other natural resources and possible financial aid from China and India. The war I think starting Dec of 2022 has entered the attritional phase.
