  1. the rent in tokyo is insane 70 square feet for 1800 USD. Here in Vancouver Canada 1800 USD will net you a 600 square feet 1 bedroom. 400 USD can get you a whole 70 SQ feet bedroom for yourself not share it with 3 other people.

  2. for Canadians Tokyo is still cheap(depends where you eat and buy). in Vancouver lunch dinner can cost you 15 to 20 USD , I remember in 2019, a big bowl of meat and rice at Yoshinoya for 3 USD. in Vancouver that will cost like 15 USD.

  3.  @DSHndmn  actually Im looking at the menu current as of 2023, a bowl in Yoshinoya tokyo is still 575 yen or 4 USD. 5 with tea and a raw egg. Tokyo can be expensive or cheap depends on your taste.
