  1. We actually aren’t at the top of the food chain in scientific terms. Trophic levels at the top require a certain percentage of the diet to be meat, and the only people on earth who come remotely close are some who live in Iceland, where most of the diet is fish. We are good at separating ourselves from being eaten by predators like bears and cougars, but that’s because we have buildings and fences. But if we inserted ourselves back into nature, we would be high on the chain, but not near the top.
