Janitors are more necessary than anyone knows. Anyone working in that area or in sanitation of any kind.

It doesn’t. I’ve worked in that field and it does as much harm as it does good.

Kekker Because you don’t get paid based on how important your job is. You get paid based mostly on how hard it is to find someone capable of replacing you if you quit or get fired. It’s very very easy to find people who are qualified and capable of being janitors and there are no major problems with shortages of applicants. However, it’s very very hard to find someone who can play starting NFL quarterback caliber football. Perhaps only about fifty or so people in the world at any given time, and that’s a high estimate. That’s why they’re paid high amounts. You’re paid based on how hard it is to replace you.

Kekker I’ve been all over the world and I’ve never been anywhere we people get paid based on how important to society their jobs are. Everywhere I’ve been, you’re paid by how difficult it is to replace you. We can not pay janitors a million dollars a year. We just can’t.
2
Kekker Surely you understand why janitors can not be paid huge amounts of money, correct?
2
Kekker Ok, I already said those things, that janitors are important. Why are you repeating my own points?

Sounds like the system is the problem. The rest of you just have not figured out that you can get your work done in two hours and then slack off.
2
@do9138 And still easy to replace. Especially considering that you’ve been fooled into thinking that you’re particularly unique.

@A B No need to eliminate all of HR. But about 90% of them should be fired. AI algorithims are capable of doing the majority of HR work, including hiring. Problem is that AI will only hire based on job efficiency patterns, and usually falls into the "problematic" habit of hiring mainly men, since AI observes that man are much much much less likely to take extended periods of time off or call in sick.

American boomers raised their kids (mostly millennials) on the idea that you HAD to have a degree, any degree, by any means necessary, and that it would prevent you from breaking your back in the trades. They told their kids to get student loans to get their degree, so that Fortune 500 companies would throw money and corner offices at them. They looked down on the trades. Now boomers make fun of millennials for being educated, and they talk about the trades like virtuous paragons of humanity, and lament that the millennials are too lazy to work in the trades because of their education. Fuck boomers.

No. The easier you are to replace is going to get you less pay. It’s pretty hard to replace a Tom Brady. It’s pretty easy to replace you.

Found the “project manager”.

You know what the recent trend is? New computer programs where employees manage all of their own documents and stuff, the things HR used to do. It's happening in colleges and universities as well. Crap like WorkDay and Oracle are taking tasks and responsibilities from advisors and HR personnel and putting it on the student/employee. So now HR doesn't even have to do most of what they used to do.

@youtubesucks1499 If a coworker is harassing you then they’re just going to side with whomever is a protected class. They’re going to choose the woman over the man, non-white over white, etc. I had an actual HR employee tell me this straight up. If I need short term disability, I have to call HR and then fight with them for extended periods of time to get it. HR also has a responsibility to protect employees from the company when necessary, which they NEVER do. Bosses and supervisors are allowed to be rude, threatening, abusive, lying, assholes, and HR will defend that behavior. I think people see value in the existence of HR. They see a lack of value in what the HR department is usually doing.

Prostitutes help too.

That’s racist.

@lordlopikong6940 So you’re against a merit based society?
1
If you could get paid doing it, you would.

@CoverBydAn I would not agree that entertainment as a whole is worthless. It’s probably a bullshit job though.

Nurse here as well. ER. Bullshit job mostly. Give drugs to drug addicts and tell fat ass old people to lose weight. That’s what I do, and it makes no difference at all.

If you wear heels or a suit and tie to work, there is a really high percentage chance that your job is bullshit. Not a guarantee, but a high chance.

Found the project manager. Enjoy your cubicle. Maybe they’ll give you a red stapler.

Good for her. Men don’t have that opportunity to get by on our looks.
