Congrats on Daisy nomination. I’ve been a nurse for 15 years and can not remember the last time anyone recognized anything I did. Enjoy it. It’s not something some of us ever receive.

@pokenurse1 I just had a guy come in for minor chest tightness and we did an EKG. It was said that it showed bradycardia. I looked and immediately noticed 3rd degree block. I told the doc we need pacing. I got him versed, fentanyl, and got him hooked to trans/pacing, called the helicopter and had him flown out. He was going to be discharged with a damn 3rd degree block. No one is ever going to say a word to me about it. I work in rural access ER and no one here has ever paced anyone. I just got that done and no one will ever say a word to me about it. In fact, the guy’s wife was rude as shit to me about the whole thing. I won’t receive a thank you, won’t hear “good job”, no one even seems to recognize that I caught that before he got discharged with a 3rd degree block and died. I don’t go around giving myself credit or asking for it, but I know if one of the managers caught that they’d be getting their picture taken and handed a plaque. I’m not in the clique so no one is even going to care. More likely they’re going to send me an email about some charting error or something.
