  2. I can tell you, as a nurse myself, that the nurse involved will absolutely be blamed and railroaded for this. Nurses are the scapegoat of the medical world. No one spends as much time with the patient as nurses do. No one does as much for the patient as nurses. When an ancillary service isn’t able to do their part, the nurse picks that up. If the phlebotomist can’t draw the blood, the nurse does it. If the respiratory tech can’t get to the breathing treatment, the nurse does it. If housekeeping can’t get around to cleaning a room, the nurse does it. And I can guarantee you that this nurse will be blame and shafted. Even in states with unions, if the hospital wants to railroad the nurse, they will. Nurses are too easy to find now. It’s a common career. This nurse will be blamed because they know they have a scapegoat.
