  1. At the same time, people from Russia often complain that UK houses are too cold. And yes, Siberians complain, too. We say: We Siberians are not those who are not afraid of cold, we are those who dress warmly. Probably you cannot even imagine how warm was our apartment in my childhood during winter. But outside temperature could be −40℃, in rare cases, −50℃.

  4.  @stepanserdyuk4589  My grandmother would always make fun of schoolchildren who went sledding because the schools were not in session due to extreme cold. However, it wasn't so cold, just −30°C or so. Our winter minimum is about −50°C, and it's not often. Well, before the advent of “global warming” it as warmer. 🙂

  5. I worked in Japan for a while and found that Japanese homes can be too cold inside. I am from Siberia (where it can be −40℃, −50℃ in rare cases), but our homes are much warmer. Yes, it takes a lot of energy, even for our well-insulated buildings.
