  16. Respect to your grandfather who could survive and returned! I had two, but I was too young and too stupid to ask them. And they didn't like to talk about war too much. "And many russians, not only balts or chechens people (look the General Vlasov case), tried to join germans by hating for communists" Traitors has every army. So, there were about 1 millions of them (from more than 30 mlns that called to army during the war). It's not a little. But I consider practically all of them just ordinary cowards who chose the "winning" side. Yes, after all they created beautiful stories about their brave battle with communism, bla-bla. But they fought with people. And as i remember Nazi often bind them with blood: to kill innocent or even civilians. They just bastards. You see, WWII wasn't civil war, when brother fought with brother, It was just war against enemy. All points were clear! And the majority hadn't any hasitates. It proves the number of soldiers and voluntares. And failing of blitzkrig. All nazi commanders noticed the strong, desperate and often hopeless resistance from the very beginning of the war! F.e. Brest, when people know nothing about nazi crimes! If soviets had some small hesitates, the nazi would be succeed in their operation. They barely conquer the Moscow! After the war in one speech Stalin thanked the nation for the trust. He said that after fails, misfortunes of the first years of war when army had to leave villages, cities, even after all, the nation still believed and trust to their leaders. That is the point. The people believed that communists would improved their live inspite of some fails (f.e. so called holodomor). Communist had very high credit of trust. And they did. The USSR became a superpower after the horrible war. Many people can't see the connection between the tasks and measures. The tasks were complicated: to restore the country after civil war (10 losses  during war), to make the industrialization in 10 years and to prepare country for war, cause it was obvious that next war would be inevitable. This tasks demanded strong measures. Was it possible to avoid such victims? I don't know. And I also know that after "democracy" since 1991 we have lost several mlns only in Russia. And results tooooo far from soviets one. The attitudes to soviets was awful. It proves the numbers of dying soldiers in nazi war camps: 2.5 mlns (60 %). And in soviets war camps about 500 thousand nazi soldiers (12%). As I remember the main loses was in first years of war. After nazi decided that they need more workers and attitude became a little better. Imagine, Nazi was one who improve not only weapons for war (guns, tanks) but also for mass murder! They started burnt men in furnaces. "germany was send back to stone age" Don't forget that Drezden was destroyed by allies, not USSR. I haven't heard that USSR provided such massive bombing especially living quarters. "We will escape to a new cold war" Unfortunately it hasn't ended. The prove is the growing of NATO after 91 and war budget of USA. I wonder why they didn't finish us in 90s. I understand that Europe under influence or USA. Much more strong that I believe. Look at sanctions. EU performs them even they damage their economy. I agree with you and hope that UE becomes more independent.

  25. ***** "who killed billions of their own people"   You only prove my statement: more emotions, less facts. Billion is one thouthand million!! It's total rediculous number. F.e. the USSR population was growing since 1917 (140 mln) till 1955 (195 mln). Yes there were disasters: civil war (about 10 mln), starvation in 30th (about 2 mln) in WWII (about 27 mln).   In spite of this monstrous losses just for 30 years, USSR became from agrarian country to superpower (the another one is USA, and now Russia is not superpower) with atomic. "Just murders" couldn't do this.   They solved many problems: grammatically literate of population became 90% in 1940 (in 1917 in consisted about 20%). They successful fougt with starvation (f.e. in tsarist Russia it appeared every 2-3 years). They improved medicine service and reduced children mortality more than in twice. They destroed the class differences so every man even from peasent had the same possibilities to study.   It was the hard time with many problems. With approaching war (it was obvious for every country after WWI that next war would started soon). That's why, the leaders made sometimes tough decisions. Not because they were just murders, but because hard time demanded hard decisions.    "Oh and so Katyn was also a myth?"    Katyn was shooting not even civilians but soldiers. It was crime but not compared with nazi crimes (they f.e. murdered 2000 children in children's death camps, taking all of their blood for army needs). And polaks always forgot that they murdered about 80000 soldiers of red army in prison after war in 1920 (many of them were not just shooting, but taurching, by the way).    And yes, I don't believe that it USSR did. Why should I? There are no 100% proves (exept the words of treator Gorbachov, who destroyed own country, and now living in USA). The way they killed was nazi way, not NKVD, the bullets were also german, that time this territory was under german occupation. And the NKVD docs that were found in 80th appeared rough fake.    So, I understand how it's difficult to realized that maybe barbarian hannibal bloody russians are not so cruel and unhuman as they are often shown in the west?    By the way, how many native americans were killed? How many europeans were killed by themself? Every country was built on men's lives.

  39. Look, I don't mean you. But practically all western commentators have problem with logic. They said that all sides commited crimes and it's mean that both sides were the same bad or practically the same. But crimes is "normal" for human society, every country and nations do it. The main difference is the attitude towards crimes. Nazi didn't punish for crimes at all! No one sentences for the crimes against civilians. So, they even didn't call it crimes. And compare with USSR which strictly punished their soldiers, even heroes for crimes! So, there were only several thousand cases of rapes. For several million army. "Stalin said "one dead people is a drama, 1 million dead people is a statistic". Actually he had never said this. One guy created this and said that it belongs to Stalin. Stalin thought like you "one innocent people killed or 1 million is a crime for me". But he also understood that innocent people suffer always in all countries. It's bad, but it's "normal". We can only reduce the numbers try to avoid this. "Soviets had gulag" Gulag was just the system of labour camps. The people were kept after trial and sentences. For a fixed period (that trial admit). The prisoners had food, money, even medical care like in normal prison. The mortality was normal for labour camps. So, it was just prison, not death or concentration camps. "If nazis did'nt made their racist & brutal politic in Russia, many russians join them against commies." It isn't true. The soviet people rebuilt county after civil war and make industrialisation under communists. They saw how their life improved with every year. They knew exactly for what they fought.
