Во всех странах всегда так было (у немцев аналог заградотряда и приказа 227 появился ещё раньше наших).

As for the photo, It might be fake (yes, at that time it was possible even without photoshop). But, if this story is true, it only shows Stalin as a honest and principle man even to himself in spite of the status. Germans offered to exchange Yakov for Paulus. He answered that he wouldn't change soldier for Field Marshal. Nothing compare with today's politics who use their status in personnal purposes. Stalin loved his son.   6. We deny lying. USSR never burnt villages with people inside. Nazi did. They burnt 400 villages in Belarus, many of them with people inside. USSR soldiers never attacked because of fear to be shooting by their own mashine guns behind them. Cause they fought for their land. And nazis themself marked it in their diaris. They said that war on eastern front was much more harder, cause soviets fought bravely and rarely surrender.

F.e. from 1920 till 1955 it increased from 140 mln up to 195 mln in spite of the civilion war and WWII. Nowadays polulation of the democratic Russia are constantly decreasing. There were destroyed 507 German divisions (plus 100 of the nazi's allies) on the Easten front and only 167 on the Western fron (only 25%).

Drezden) unlike USSR losses were about 16 mln of civilians. About 2,5 mln soviet soldiers died in nazis prisons (about 60 %) unlike in USSR prison died only 450 thouthand (about 12%) of nazis. Afer war some of them worked in labour camps and returned to German. How many nazis didn't want to fight? One, two, hundred? Poor nazis, they murdered and tortured beacause "they forced". The same farytails they told on Neurnberg trials. But if you perfom the crime orders you are to punished. And wiki has links on the sourses. So, often it has the correct info. It is easy to check the sourses.

Brest, when people know nothing about nazi crimes! If soviets had some small hesitates, the nazi would be succeed in their operation. They barely conquer the Moscow! After the war in one speech Stalin thanked the nation for the trust. He said that after fails, misfortunes of the first years of war when army had to leave villages, cities, even after all, the nation still believed and trust to their leaders. That is the point. The people believed that communists would improved their live inspite of some fails (f.e. so called holodomor). Communist had very high credit of trust. And they did. The USSR became a superpower after the horrible war. Many people can't see the connection between the tasks and measures. The tasks were complicated: to restore the country after civil war (10 losses  during war), to make the industrialization in 10 years and to prepare country for war, cause it was obvious that next war would be inevitable. This tasks demanded strong measures. Was it possible to avoid such victims? I don't know. And I also know that after "democracy" since 1991 we have lost several mlns only in Russia. And results tooooo far from soviets one. The attitudes to soviets was awful. It proves the numbers of dying soldiers in nazi war camps: 2.5 mlns (60 %). And in soviets war camps about 500 thousand nazi soldiers (12%). As I remember the main loses was in first years of war. After nazi decided that they need more workers and attitude became a little better. Imagine, Nazi was one who improve not only weapons for war (guns, tanks) but also for mass murder! They started burnt men in furnaces. "germany was send back to stone age" Don't forget that Drezden was destroyed by allies, not USSR. I haven't heard that USSR provided such massive bombing especially living quarters. "We will escape to a new cold war" Unfortunately it hasn't ended. The prove is the growing of NATO after 91 and war budget of USA. I wonder why they didn't finish us in 90s. I understand that Europe under influence or USA. Much more strong that I believe. But USSR believed in limit of that: every crimes against civilians were investigated and punished unlike Gernan didh't, the prisoners of war were to keep in normal condition unlike German didn't and even after war nazis were judged for specific crimes, not for ideology, unlike German murdered even women and children only for belonging to "wrong" nation. So, for every wise person it's obvious which side was terrible. I suppose that you don't know history, of western propaganda replace your brains. It is like to said: "Your soldiers are trained better and your have more arms. You have an advantage! It is monumental luck!" It is not luck! Do you know that German planned to finish the war in 3 month, before cold? Where was luck? Our brave soldiers did not permit to do this. German tried very hard to finish as soon as possible so as not to let us to use our advantage, but failed. And our partisans cut ways in order to break supply. . By the way as I remember Luftwaffe had the separate from Wehrmacht supply. And they received enough winter equipment.

They successful fougt with starvation (f.e. in tsarist Russia it appeared every 2-3 years). They improved medicine service and reduced children mortality more than in twice. They destroed the class differences so every man even from peasent had the same possibilities to study.   It was the hard time with many problems. With approaching war (it was obvious for every country after WWI that next war would started soon). That's why, the leaders made sometimes tough decisions. Not because they were just murders, but because hard time demanded hard decisions.    "Oh and so Katyn was also a myth?"    Katyn was shooting not even civilians but soldiers. It was crime but not compared with nazi crimes (they f.e. murdered 2000 children in children's death camps, taking all of their blood for army needs). Why should I? There are no 100% proves (exept the words of treator Gorbachov, who destroyed own country, and now living in USA). The way they killed was nazi way, not NKVD, the bullets were also german, that time this territory was under german occupation. But people in nazi prison suffered from diseases, hunger long before it. F.e. 2.5 mln soviets prisoners died in german (58%) and most of them died during the first years of war. And only 500 thousand 15% (as i remember) nazi died in soviet prison. Compare the attitude.
