Yes and i assume that the 'Dark Forest' theory includes that alien life may be so alien to us that even if it isn't deliberately hiding or hostile, that we just don't or can't recognise it as life...

@rursus8354 too many assumptions - the thing so many ppl ignore, that i believe you are also ignoring or just not considered, is that alien life may be so alien that we don't even recognise it as life! Imagine if it were microscopic or made of energy or moving so slowly you don't perceive it as even alive or moving....or too fast or on a totally different spectrum of light or energy or some frequency issue or perhaps totally different 'life building blocks', like not carbon-based....etc etc etc etc...soooo many possibilities <--and those the the ones we CAN consider... the point is, ALIEN means it's completely foreign and different from us and ∴ probably even what we can understand.

@High_Key i agree with your view too because it's just a pure fluke of luck that we are still around! As u know, we have come close to extinction more than once already and there is no reason we 'should' still be here or to assume we will be here for long enough to beat the 'interstellar' problem/hurdle. (Faster Than Light problem)

I'm only 1min and 40s in and already have 2 rather big objections.... 1. How can you show this 1:10 animation, saying, 'Just look at how fast....', with NO TIME-SCALE!!?? 2. Then at 1:33, you show the 'Kardashev Scale' without explanation! (Type 1 caan harness all energy of planet, Type 2 of solar system and so on...). I guess, it's fair to assume ppl already know this, but it's a tutorial-type video, so u expect it to be for kids too and it's just sloppy and lazy. - You easily could have, at least, had the info in text on the bottom of the screen, in the image.... I'll keep watching but not much longer.... there are millions of vids here, vying for my attention 😉 {EDIT: Kept watching and of course saw u explained the Kardashev Scaled later ; ) - Not base overall! - Would be nice to pu some time stamps in there! }
