  1. I don't like the whole us vs them thing. But as for these things, these people screech at reason and seek problems and drama, and normal people just don't want that in our lives. These people just can never not be thinking about politics or gender ideology and just be frickin human beings and chill. They'll scream at you the second you disagree even a little with them

  2. 1:15 the global cooling thing was basically that we just learned about milankovich cycles and the recdnt ice age cycles, and that we're currently in an interglacial period that appears due to end soon according to historical patterns. This was without climate models like we have now. At the end of the day, it was an issue of bad science communication, laypeople and news outlets jumping the gun on science like so often happens. It does not mean that science is bad, it's that it changes as evidence accumulates, and people are frequently dumb and unable to understand levels of scientific confidence, how much evidence we have for things. People want to think in a binary fashion, like we either know something for certain or we don't. And that's just not the nature of science
