  1. You take the safety off then slide the rack back exposing the barrel some, you twist the barrel counter clockwise about 1/4 turn or enough where the slide does not catch. If you can't twist the barrel you did not slide the slide back enough once the barrel turns freely you have to turn it enough to where the slide will not catch on the cut grooves in the barrel. I had a colt 25 that had that form of take-down. I gave it back to my mother she was delivering papers and had some sketch fools try some stunts I told her it is perfect to deal with varmints like that. So what if it is an antique gun you want something the cops don't covet carry a nice gun they will take if from you.
