If so, then that is an illustration of the inconsistency of "liberal" ideology: On the one hand you drive mistrust towards institutions, on the other you are upset when other people mistrust them. Plus: On the one hand you excessively use the victim card, on the other you are upset when Trump uses that trick. Now you reap what you sow. Actually we all reap what you sowed.
