  2.  @davidwarnes5158  Well, I am not sure what you mean by a friendly thing. The UK leaving (even with a trade deal) will lead to economic loss on both sides. It, therefore, can be seen as an unprovoked attack on all other members of the EU, nevertheless, ihe EU has allways been friendly towards the UK, irrespectively of all the venom from the UK. Not even your post sounds very friendly.

Decisions in the EU are made by the Governments of the individual countries. Why should any country agree to a change beneficial for the UK but detrimental for the country itself. No Government that makes such decisions can be expected to be reelected. They met with different heads of governments in the EU and tried to bypass Barnier and to undermine the EUs negotiating position. You cannot condem without condemming the other without being a hypocrit.

  4. They are not illegal, emergency exceptions are well established. Even more, if they decided to change the EU laws, this would be legislation, not rule-breaking. In any case, the UK has committed to much stricter state-aid rules in the deal with Japan.
