  1. Because it’s unexpected and there’s no trenches or troops behind the frontline. Going head to head with ruzzia where they’ve built defenses is useless. Now ruzzia has to scramble and move troops without knowing where the contact line will be. Ruzzia has to be the one on the offense now with no clue where to go or where to dig in. Meanwhile the front line is well dug in and the supply lines would stretch to far. But who knows how it ends and where Ukraine strikes next.
