  1. The Taliban are overwhelmingly NOT Wahhabi. But they were sympathetic to the typical criticism that comes from Wahhabis. They are Hanafi Sunnis, hence the title "Mulla" among them.

  2. The Taliban government was 6 years old when the Americans invaded. Imagine judging the American government and people by the brutal slavery of their "founding fathers." Theocracies moderate over time. It's nobody's business but theirs to hurry it along.
