@davesnothere3425 - No, the best protection is vaccination, 4-6mos booster and the additional immunity provided by a 14x less lethal breakthrough infection. "Weak" Omicron could still kill you or disable you for life if you're unvaccinated. The fact that full vaccination plus added protection that breakthrough infections contributes is the highest protection (approximately 87-98% protection from hospitalization, serious illness or death) shouldn't make people seek a breakthrough infection, especially since doing so carelessly puts others at risk. ADDENDUM: The protection from the mRNA vaccines, with booster at 4-6mos, is approximately 82-95%. The immunity provided by infection is around 40-60%, with some non-peer reviewed outlier studies finding as high as 80%, but with -- as mentioned -- a 14x greater risk of death by not getting vaccinated.
