When Qatar can build an arena/stadium that doesn't have a death toll, I'll congratulate them. Until then, I'll boycott the broadcasts and instead remember those who gave their lives to bring us this World Cup.

@haliib1107 - The Qatari government turns a blind eye [and reaps] the benefits while maintaining a veneer of plausible deniability. Same old story of greed and power that's older than futbol.

@LuAna - The multiple reports on the construction projects done by human rights and news orgs aren't propaganda, despite what you might wish.

@emla2097 - No racism whatsoever. Simply a personal choice to not participate in this World Cup. Qatar can and should do better by the migrants who work in their country. Their misplaced priorities needlessly cost thousands their lives.

@b4bilalkhan - You can choose to believe what you like, but no it wasn't just western propaganda. Although the 6,500 deaths reported by the Guardian isn't independently verifiable, thousands have died or been killed during the construction of the FIFA World Cup facilities in Qatar. The Indian and Nepalese embassies aren't western media, in case you wondered. "Altogether, the embassies counted more than 400 deaths a year until the end of 2013, which makes a total of 1,239 deaths (2010-2013) only of Nepalese and Indian workers."

@Vegas_Knight - No, it wouldn't. That is the most pathetic boxed logic justifying homicidal negligence that I've ever heard posited.
