Comments by "Meh Pluribus Unum" (@pluribus_unum) on "Russia-Ukraine crisis: Belarus warns it could host nuclear weapons" video.
Telling, since Ukraine gave up their nuclear weapons in exchange for their territorial integrity and sovereignty. "...the Budapest Memorandum. With the entrance of Ukraine into the international order as a non-nuclear state, Russia, the U.S. and the U.K. pledged to 'respect the independence and sovereignty and the existing borders of Ukraine.'" "The memo reaffirmed their obligation to “refrain from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine.'" "The signatories also reaffirmed their commitment to “seek immediate” UN Security Council action “to provide assistance to Ukraine … if Ukraine should become a victim of an act of aggression.” These assurances upheld obligations contained in the U.N. charter and the 1975 Helsinki Final Act."

@98MAzdaMilleniaS - To be fair, so does the right-wing media.

@cabellones - I didn't call it a treaty, nor did the citations I used. The fact that the weapons were formally controlled by the Commonwealth of Independent States doesn't change the fact that Ukraine made the choice to disarm in exchange for a guarantee of independence and autonomy.

@legend9805 - The point is, the aggressors are Russia and Belarus, and Russia made commitments that they wouldn't be an aggressor to Ukraine. Also, Russia will keep the codes if Lukashenko stations nukes in Belarus.

@legend9805 - You are free to keep peddling the Russian taking points, but that's all you're doing.

@legend9805 - No attack here. Keep letting Putin's words fall from your lips if you like.

@ricb.7067 - My point is that Russia is breaking its commitment to Ukraine to respect their independence and sovereignty.

@ricb.7067 - No, they aren't. The Kremlin should send you a Thank You note for peddling that notion for them, however.
1
@cabellones - No, I didn't. The citation makes clear it's a memorandum.
1
@cabellones - Thank you for elaborating on your point. While I don't agree, I'm glad for the added perspective.
