I'm not saying the swords are dulled by the plowshares, but that we didn't just walk away from the humanitarian efforts. U.S. aid to the Afghan people was sent before, during, and after the longest war in U.S. history in their country.

Since 1994, the number of Americans killed by right-wing domestic terrorism is greater than those killed by all other forms of domestic terrorism combined. 3 in 4 Republicans want the United States of America turned into a Christian nationalist state, according to polling by Pew from September 2022.

  16. The Republican party isn't a conservative party anymore, it's extremist and authoritarian. There's very little common ground with democratic and autocratic political parties. The majority of its voters don't accept that Biden is the duly elected President of the United States of America. The GOP is funding and running candidates for Secretary of State who are promising that they will betray their oath of office, if elected. The GOP loudly and proudly run candidates for legislative office at the state and federal level who promise to not do their work if elected, instead vowing to break government intentionally -- even famously saying they wish to shrink it down [to the size of an infant] so they can "drown it in a bathtub."

It is always helpful to have some added context about someone's personal context when they're offering their views as a form of counsel or advice. My own view of [Baha'i] shares everything with my own view of all religion, again, to give my own atheist personal context, as I offer what's clearly counsel or advice.

  21. The political "agnosticism" common to scientists' language, shown here when she says "our leaders didn't heed those alarms" (@ 6:15) is damaging. Republicans didn't heed those alarms. Republicans cut the budgets that dwindled staff and resources. Republicans are largely responsible for inconsistent and non-standard reporting of COVID data. Republicans killed the pandemic response team Democrats created. Stop aiding the Republican war on facts, evidence, science and truth with this misleading language.
