  16. No, the Tesla was not paying attention. This is California. Lane splitting is allowed, and you must give room. You can't just move into someone's way who is splitting, because you don't like them to do it. And it's the law that you check your mirrors. That's why it's a law that your car HAS mirrors. So you can't say, but officer, I don't have mirrors, I didn't know I was going to run over that motorcycle. See how stupid you'd sound if you went to court?

  18. He may be warming those tires up. I didn't have money to swap out my summer tires for winter tires, and they were very slick at ambient temp until they got warm. But I also didn't have money to replace them from mad burnouts, so I just drove slowly, haha.

I told them, show me the code that says I cannot turn around before a light. Wasn't one. Tried to argue that was what the concrete was for. I told him, if they didn't want me to cross it, they could have made a 1 foot wall. But instead they made a 3 inch hump. Not even a hard edge. One tried to ego check me. Gave me a wreckless driving. Took it to court, made him describe what was wreckless about it. He didn't have any words that appeared in the code book. Charge dropped. Nowadays, I'd file a complaint on him for retalitory. Fwiw, all you need to do is STOP like normal, before proceeding.
