I see some parallels with these "mines" being found 80 odd years later and the gazzillions of mines laid here in Ukraine by the ruZZian invaders, that on one podcast was aptly titled "Ukraine’s mine clearance will outlive all of us" (it's worth watching, search for that title on here). Also the 'Phoney war" brings to my mind the "Phoney aid" which is always too little too late, we ask for 500 western tanks we get 40, we ask for F-16's two years ago we get them only now and in too small numbers to make a difference. But thank god BOJO was out on the front foot for the UK when he did, securing us NLAWS and whatever he could in Europe, a coupe of months before the Americans woke up to it all.
