  1.  @claradidi7573  You'll make a lot of money in the long term if you stay invested and ignore the market's ups and downs; but, a major market correction triggers a lot of margin calls and sell-offs, sending the market further lower. In a bull market, people become greedy, and it's nearly impossible to resist the urge to buy additional stocks with borrowed money or money they don't have.

  2. This affects everyone, whether directly or indirectly. Investments or stocks, for example, hold their worth quite well, but I'm presently considering whether to liquidate my $113k in shares or keep them since I'm scared they'll lose value.
