I disagree with the chick in the beginning. Back when I had Facebook, it was only friends who I have served with and family. Facebook was all I had. My account was private so the only way you can request a friendship was through someone who knew me directly. If I didn't know someone, I'd ask the misses if she knew them. 99% of the time it was her family (Colombian, big family).
