  2. I saw this cultural shift during my last 5 years in the U. S. Navy. Suddenly women were allowed on combat vessels and everything changed. Being on a navy destroyer is bad enough but having to watch every damn syllable that leaves your lips made it completely miserable. I’m so glad I retired in 2002. It must be a Ridley Scott nightmare now.

  3. I’m 60 years old. Thirty five years ago I was living with my girlfriend in Virginia. I distinctly remember something she did one day out of the blue. Having just arrived home from a very long work week, I was washing my hands in the kitchen sink. Without saying anything she came up behind me, pressed herself against my back and put her arms around my waist. She held it for a minute and said “thank you for taking care of me.” Unfortunately we didn’t work out but I still remember that day like it was yesterday. Women cannot fathom the power they have.
