  1. What is wrong with Hungarian leaders? Always taking the wrong and defeated side? History is full of examples. Hungary was in the defeated side in the WWI. Afterwards willingly joined the Nazis in the war efforts and perpetration of the Holocaust. Then, as a satellite of the USSR, rebelled and saw the USSR tanks crashing the rebellion and killing Hungarians on the streets of Budapest. Eventually, Hungary was gracefully granted a place in the EU, for which it did not have to struggle. When we thought the Hungarian curse had ended, here comes a authoritarian fascist leaning government again attracted to the wrong side flirting with defeat. Instead of joining ranks with all the other countries in the EU, Hungary is getting hand in hand with the criminal authoritarian kleptocracy in Russia, abandoning and rubbishing democratic and legality values so dear to the European Union. No good will come out of that for the Hungarian people. Again Hungarians can expect another historical round of humiliations, defeatism and shame. Time to wake up Hungary! We are in the XXI Century.

  2. Words first, agreements second, actions next, this is how democracy works and this is much better than any alternative fascist political regime. For those who criticize and do not understand the democratic processes, study more, you can understand it and see the greatness of such regime. If you do not live in a democratic state, it will be harder for you to understand.

  14. Orban listens and swallows all the humiliation because his boss, Putin, wants him inside EU to try to disrupt it. Everyone knows, the only value Orban has for Putin is exactly his presence in EU. If he and Hungary leaves EU, he will no longer be of any value for Putin. He stands all humiliation for this humiliating reason. Despicable spectacle of a man without moral, a coward without any courage to be coherent with his purposes. Shame on him. A man with self-respect would stand up and leave the session.

  23. NATO can easily continue as a strong and powerful alliance without the US. The US will be losing billions and billions of dollars a year in revenues and will seriously struggle to keep its military weapons industry afloat, never mind the jobs. That colossal industry has survived for many decades thanks to its exports to NATO allies. It will no longer find enough buyers for its most expensive products. US alone as the sole purchaser cannot keep those industries open. NATO allies on the other hand have very strong military industries that will benefit enormously from the redirection of purchases to them.

The US would not be able to militarily face China, Russia, Iran and North Korea alone; US would desperately need NATO allies in such desperate situation.
