  1. As a white guy, when I started the career I'm in now, I showed up with a bachelors degree, and the licensing authority asked "Do you have any relevant experience beyond that?" Nope, so I had to work in my job 6 YEARS to get enough ACTUAL experience to test for my license. I could have showed up with a Phd and they would have said the same. Degrees don't really count for much anymore.
