  2. ​ @jonstapleton2340  because with no label, or even worse, the wrong label, you can't belong to the class you want to. Americans, we're great at seeing racism, especially when there is none, but we're absolutely blind to the class system we have that's blatantly obvious to outsiders. I see European YouTubers talk about it all the time, how the US eliminated racism but won't shut up about it, while we also have a rigid, heavily enforced class system we can't see at all, and refuse to address.

  3. "She had 4 abortions because they were male..." I don't know why but that hit me like existential dread. There are children right now starving to death, mining cobalt by hand in Africa, and no one cares, but the IDEA a woman would get pregnant four times and kill each baby just because it's male made me lose hope in humanity. It would be like someone in a mixed race marriage that keeps getting abortions because they don't want a 'mixed baby'. People would be outraged, not celebratory.

  4. It's like alcoholism and the disease model of addiction, it's self-affirming. I think you're an alcoholic! No I'm not, I just have a drink now and again... Oh, that's denial, that CONFIRMS you're an alcoholic, now you have it for life, can't get rid of it, you have zero power, it owns you, you're a fiend! The only choice is to give up all control and your whole life to God, I guess, you drunk. And don't even think about arguing with that, that's just more denial, wow you're a worse alky than we even thought! Trans can be just like that. Everyone around you says you have a problem, if you do or not you start looking for a solution, you get coerced. You get influenced. And before long, you start actually believing it too. That scares me.
