  1. Yes, everyone wants felons, child abusers, wife beaters, and crackheads working for them, it's the best way to improve your company! And of COURSE they get paid exactly the same as you who've led a clean life, right?

  2. Here's the problem: it's an arms race. If your employer does such and such to you, and another doesn't, they might have happier employees, but they'll lose out competing to your company, and before long their employees have all the free time they want, and they'll be wanting to come take YOUR job.

  5. BUT, if we worked people less and paid them more, that would increase the costs of their work, increasing the cost of the goods/services they produce, meaning everyone can now afford less. Would you rather work 40 hours a week over 5 days, or work 40 hours a week in 10 hour days? I do that. TECHNICALLLY, I make more money that way with the same salary. I have 3 day weekends at a 5 workday rate. This means my hourly goes up 20% even though I make the same.

  6. So wait, people hated their jobs and life, so to counter that, they're embracing homelessness? Living on the street? Loosing their entire lifes work? I need help seeing the upside or improvement here lol.

  7. Now imagine how that effects employers, they put TONS of effort, time, resources into each employee, just for them to walk with all that value right out the door, probably to a competitor. You have to see more than just the side you want to see. LONG ago when I was a fast food manager, I remember training when they were talking about hiring new employees, to remember that it cost the company several thousand dollars for a new employee before they even clocked in the first time, all the paperwork, the accounting, the recordkeeping at the national/corporate level. You hire a flake that only lasts a week, it's a major loss that comes right out of sales.

  8. Judging from the comments, the economy will collapse and we'll all be dead in the next decade. BEST OF LUCK starting your new businesses in the civil war lulz. Crime is already doubling year over year, it's only going to get worse. Overdoses are past record levels as people don't work. It's going to get BAD. You'll think a job is beneath you, then no job at all will be there and homelessness won't be beneath you. I read these comments and I see people embracing their despair, giving up. Every one that gripes and surrenders spreads to two more and drags them down. There is a duty to stop this, or there will be no market to work in. Everyone will end up working for the Government, just to eat.

You know what pisses me off the most about all this: People like me who worked through the pandemic in a job where THOUSANDS of people relied on me, where people and even society would collapse if I didn't work, I LOST money by working, while people got to sit on their ass and make MORE than me on federal dole unemployment. I run a water plant. Our people literally LIVED at our workplace to keep the water running for people, for months. I had DHS paperwork to get me through checkpoints in case they shut down the country. I could have quit, said f everyone, let the taps go dry probably, and made money doing it. Keep that in mind when you flip a light switch or run your water tap.
