From a man's perspective, if I have rapport with you as a woman, that drops attraction to ZERO, because if we have rapport you're like a friend or coworker now, and man rule #1 is never be romantic with friends or coworkers. @bradpnw1897 eye contact means you're challenging someone. It's pretty aggressive. Then you bare your teeth, again, aggressive. Humans are weird. In the rest of nature, looking each other in the eye and baring our teeth means imminent attack, but to us it's a friendly greeting.

It is a big fuckin deal, some of us only approach women we'd do anything for. It's why I'm 40 and never done it, I've never felt that attraction. I get asked out and I humor those, but can't really remember any like ",Oh man I have to talk to her!" Feelings. Need better women to attract me I guess. I'm not just going to hit up some rando to try to get rando sex, why?

Wireless headphones, i noticed this day one in college way back in 2006. I tried being the nice person who said hi to every pretty girl I saw walking to class, but almost every time you say something, theyd not hear, have to stop, take out their earbuds, then be like "What, what do you want?" Creating that imposition of having to stop, stop your music or podcast, now interacting with this unsolicited interaction, its a huge isolating factor. That was almost 20 years ago (holy shit) and its only gotten far worse. Every person has wireless headphones in now, there is no way to randomly compliment or say hi offhandedly to anyone.

Seems like a waste of time to get to know someone to find out if you like them, rather than liking them and that being why you invest the time to get to know them. In my experience growing to love someone is total bullshit, it happens instantly or not ever. All you can grow is negatives, resentment. As you get to know them you fall out of love.
