Try running a water plant only 2 other people know how to and/or are licensed to operate. Irreplaceable critical infrastructure status. We're in a complete isolation protocol. Only one person works at any time, zero interaction with the public or other city depts/coworkers, and strictly no non-employees on site. We haven't even had a single case within a county of us. I took this job initially kind of joking about having water treatment skills would make me valuable in an apocalypse, but actually experiencing a taste that responsibility for real now is not so fulfilling. I don't want to be the VIP lol. I'd much rather take my 8 weeks paid sick time and 3 weeks vacation and ride this all out at my farm. Stay safe.

When before has it taken a hit like this? We're in completely uncharted territory. The auto, housing, travel, tourism, and bar/restaurant indsutries just spun down to zero all at once, the entire industries. Many parts won't come back at all. Sure, it'll probably recover, but how many years or decades will it take? We JUST BARELY got over the Carnage of 2008 a year or 2 ago. All that damage is just after two weeks so far? Imagine how bad it will be after a few months of this. I'm just glad Im debt free and work an irreplaceable job in the most critical of critical infrastructure sectors. I'm expecting to pick up some nice used good for pennies on the dollar as people lose everything.

For the S strain or the L strain. There ARE two. The S is the "most people get it and most have no sympoms" one going global. The L strain is the one that wrecks huge percentages of whom gets it. Getting the S strain seems to confer immunity to the L strain.

As late as 2015 chickenpox kills over 6000 people globally a year. I was deliberately given that potentially deadly, FAR more contagious airborne virus by my parents as a kid, like most kids. We've known about varicella since the 1800s. For the whooshers, the point being we're terrible at gauging risk. Your risk of death from contracting this virus, upper limit so far, is 4%. If I was a casino and said your odds of winning every time you played was over 96% you'd never stop playing.
