  1. Irony is the barriers were raising to protect the capital because of the emergency. For all we know, that could have been an Al Queda stolen police car with a VBIED, seeing as the event going on WAS a car attacking the White House gate that threatened a VBIED. Hence isolating the area from ALL traffic, trusted or otherwise.   2. Also, those barriers are AUTOMATED. I'm not sure if they even have any control over their deployment, which makes sense from a digital/physical security standpoint.

  3. He also didn't brake AT ALL, he hit it full acceleration. You can hear the engine still revving up at impact. He had zero awareness.
