  1. My coworker has five autistic children, three of which are unable to speak and never have. They're almost 10 and been nonverbal their entire lives, and are expected to be for life. They require 24 hour care for even the smallest tasks. His take is like saying the kid with leukemia prayed to the wrong god.

  2. Autism is social? When I think autistic, I think of my coworkers FIVE autistic children, 3 of which CANNOT EVEN SPEAK, can't care for themselves, require 24 hour care for the smallest tasks, and will for life, and that started as toddlers. There was no chance to be socialized into it.
