  3. A better example is TCP/IP. THAT is truly open source, decentralized networking. If you an be banned, it's not decentralized, because who bans you? The central authority. TCP/IP works so well that in Desert Storm when the US tried to take down the entire Iraqi command and control system, they couldn't, the protocols we in the US designed and released to the world as part of the network that could survive a massive war, survived our massive war attacks.
