  1. Exactly, the spirit should be more like "If they offer you food, it's a bribe, you don't want or need THEIR charity, tell them to F off". Maybe it's just me, but that 'spirit of defiance' doesn't just turn on and off like that lol. Your enemy knocks you down and offers you help up you slap it away. Why else are you protesting? Because they're not protesting to stop something or take something away from their oppressor, they're protesting to GAIN something for themselves. An analogy would be in the US civil rights movement, a white man seeing a white cop beating a black man with a baton and jumping in and grabbing the baton to stop it, vs that same man standing to the side and telling the black man how to stop resisting and they'll stop, you're making your people look bad, while they record it with their face in the foreground.
