  4. That's why I donate to a charity whose goal is literally to last forever. The Elks National Foundation. They're coming up on a century in operation, and the original seed money is still in their endowment, earning interest that is given to our elks lodges to be spent into the community as grants. They never touch the principle. When you donate you know that money you gave will still be working on your behalf another century from now. That endowment is approaching a billion dollars. This year my Elks lodge donated almost $3k we fundraised which is over our quota, so we'll be getting $15,000 in grants to use for community projects. The overhead for the ENF is low single-digits because it's all volunteer.

  13. ​ @PaulClayton-t1z hanging out and being able to be yourself is the bare minimum base level of starting to work specifically on mental health. If I had a female therapist I'd make dead zero progress because no way would that ever be a safe space with her there judging me for things she has not and cannot experience. Here's an opposite example: a group that meets to discuss going through childbirth, thats a safe space for women, no men would want or be able to join, it's something we can never experience. We need a common perspective before we can help someone change.

  26. Narcissistic hate is a great description. I look at this and I think wow, it's great SOMEONE is helping these people, I applaud Jimmy for doing that, good job, keep up the good work! They see it and think DAMN, if he's helping people it somehow makes ME look bad, how can we make him look bad doing it and therefore somehow make us look good for calling him out? NORMAL people just want people to be helped, NO MATTER WHO DOES IT OR GETS CREDIT. I know a lot of people like that, get this helped, here's money, I don't care if I get praise I just want those people helped, and I also know people who will literally not help in any way unless they get credit and praise and social validation for that help, making it not really seem like 'help' for others at all.

I could be wrong, just shooting from the hip as a hydrologist and water chemist, but if you start pumping hydrogen into water, in an ionic form so it doesn't bond with water molecules, won't that bond with gaseous oxygen in the air and form hydroxide ions and make that water basic AF? If I'm going to the gym and not getting stronger and not losing weight, I'd stop going, or change what I'm doing.
