  1. An actual whataboutism should make YOU ask questions about YOUR OWN conduct. The reaction should never be "See, they're just as bad!", but rather "Wait, am I just as bad as them? Oh no, what have I done?". Exposing hypocrisy should not be a defense, it should be your wakeup call to self-awareness.
