YEAH, the one time I tried therapy, my therapist turned their notes over to the entity who forced me to do the therapy, and I showed up early to a session to walk into a group of people discussing my issues openly among themselves, by name. It's SUPPOSED to be a safe space and all that, but when it isn't, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOUR ISSUES ARE ALL LACK-OF-TRUST BASED, it really ruins it for you. And he was a man I had come to respect as a mentor, so the BETRAYAL damaged that idea as well.

You're not a king or pharoah, your servants won't be struck down and burned on your pyre to serve you in the afterlife, it's a trip only you can take. If it's helping other kids or helping your own, I'd expect a good father to put his own before all others. It's why parents coaching is always an issue, they have to play favorites. I don't even have kids, but I have nieces, and guess what, if they were drowning I'd use the other kids as stepping stones to get to them, others are not my RESPONSIBILITY, that's THOSE FATHERS' responsibility.

Like me, I run a water utility, if I see a customer it means the end of the world, I'm either at their house to turn their water off or notify them of a catastrophe. I was adopted at birth, so the man who raised me because my biological father couldn't legally gave me his name, and I'm proud to carry it. But he actually did raise them, so they also deserve to carry his name. Those names used to actually carry the father's name so it was quite obvious, like I'd be Robert Johnson, Robert, the Son of John. It also makes sense in Game of Thrones, having a 'placeholder' surname for bastards, like Snow in the North or Sand in the East.
