Nukes provide self-defense for a nation much like a suicide vest provides self-defense for a person. It works perfectly as long as you never, ever USE it. Without an immediate existential threat, no nuclear power will initiate doomsday. Russia occasionally uses bluff and brinksmanship to bully their way with the timid west. Would they use chemical weapons? Well, they have, so: yes.

  3.  Надежда Над  Russia is playing the cowardly bully game, too weak to fight a world power on the field, assaults the weak neighbor, and tell everyone else to stay back or everyone dies. America is NOT always the good guy, but this is not America's "game". Russia has become the paranoid "school shooter" of the era.
