@DizGoneWild916 Not to worry ,big businesses have discovered us and are moving here, to a place where a higher percentage of the population are willing to work for a living. I did not understand what you mean by "broke asses" how many billions in unfunded liabilities are California,Illinois and New York carrying on the books as an unofficial "balloon payment" to stick on business and industry in the near future? Yes, we have more Federal cash inflow, mostly because we welcomed large military installations. ( That distorts the numbers) Some because American firms just "fly over" while foreign companies actually drop in and then move here. I don't know where you live, but where I live, my upper middle class home is property tax free because I am over 65. What are your property taxes? We don't need to create extra business incentives ( yet we sometimes do) because our NORM of business taxes are very low, and our real estate costs are comparatively low.
We can provide the workforce. I could commute to any of three universities or
four colleges or two vocational colleges from my home, and did. You underestimate your competition and empires, some political, some business have paid for that same mistake. Alabama and Georgia are on the field to play and some big blue states have put us in a position of advantage due to your long history of mismanagement. When you hear the economic boom of the 21st Century, the sound will be coming from Alabama, Georgia and Florida.

Only fools believe that corporations pay taxes. Corporate taxes are passed to the consumer, so Amazon consumers worldwide would have been sending money to NY. Yes, employees pay federal taxes. With FEDERAL taxes, who pays and how much is irrelevant to the State and City Government. What NY lost was State and Local Taxes plus the bogus corporate taxes from consumers. Plus the re-investment of cash in the community by small businesses building up to accommodate the needs of Amazon employees. Yes, Amazon was going to kill local jobs, their 25k employees were not going to buy a refrigerator locally, they were going to order their meals from Amazon. They had no intention of taking advantage of the well known high quality clothing available in NYC. They were certainly not going to live in new or renovated apartments ,built and renovated by locals. The money made by locals providing those goods and services were surely going to also limit their spending to Amazon purchases, as though people are more inclined to buy online if the online company is next door. Your, killin' me, Smalls.
