  3. Sadly, Ukraine exported almost all of the military hardware that they had inherited from the USSR and only kept a small fraction of their tanks, planes, and artillery. Weakness invites invasion because evil lives in this world. They had been promised safety in exchange for giving up their nukes. Promises are cheap in politics. We sent them about a day's worth of weapons.
