@wessexdruid7598 I asked my 25 year old neighbor yesterday about Chernobyl; He had never heard if it. What one generation considers "common knowledge" is the stuff that the next generation sleeps through in history class.

Those tours don't include digging bunkers and latrines or camping out there for weeks. Young men are going to die, brief tours of the site or not.

Time matters. They were camped out there for weeks.

@FirstLast-zk5ow You could visit the army hospital in Belarus instead.

@FirstLast-zk5ow I'm sure that you can ask for a visa; I'm not your travel agent. I was not present for The Holocaust, and yet, I know about it. I have never been to Ireland, and yet, I know that it is not a mythical place.

@javierpatag3609 Some will have a very hard time.

Someone at the hospital will cue them in.

The broadcaster was trying to make it look like Pfizer wanted assets to PAY FOR the vaccine. Pfizer asked for a similar level of legal security as it receives in other countries. In the US, without the PREP Act we would not be receiving any vaccines either. Countries can step up or step off. It sounds like a couple of countries are demanding special treatment.

While it was the USSR when it happened, it is not "their country" in these Russian soldiers' lifetime.

Adults who lived through events often assume that those events are "common knowledge" when in fact the young might never hear of them outside of a dull history class. Ask some 20 year olds about anything before their birth, you'll be shocked. It is not that they are stupid, but that adults fail to teach.

I just went next door and asked my 25-year-old neighbor about Chernobyl; he'd never heard of it. It happens.

@Vajrapani108 Altogether more reason to have stayed home.

@cyborg6294 Yes, they're supposed to be shot, burned and blown apart in battle; not die from their commander's stupidity.
