  1. The economic slowdown is indeed "artificial" as in there was no ECONOMiC cause, unexpected world events and the recommended response imposed an artificial economic crash. Because it was NOT due to real economic forces, it CAN rebound pretty quickly....unless we allow it to wilt from disuse, and then it will be a REAL economic shutdown. It was time to slow the spread of the pandemic and now it is time to prevent the (real) collapse of the economy. After five weeks of steadily rising cases and deaths, but the RATE of rise has been rock steady due to control measures, the time is now. We can handle another dose of rising infections and re-open large swaths of the economy, as long as we remain careful and mindful of the threat.
